Karsten Loose

Founder & Managing partner

Karsten is a founder and Managing Partner at Karlon Group. Prior to forming Karlon Group, Karsten was Managing Director and the head of west coast practice at WGNY. Karsten has served as CFO and head of finance at multiple companies including Parachute Home, FIGS, and thredUP.

Karsten started his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs from 2008 to 2015, rising to Vice President, where he advised consumer, retail and industrials/manufacturing clients on M&A, equity, debt and other corporate transactions. Karsten holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with Honors from UC Berkeley, where he graduated summa cum laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa honors society.

Sean Scanlon

Founder & Managing Partner

Sean is a founder and Managing Partner at Karlon Group. Prior to forming Karlon Group, Sean was Vice President of Finance and Operations at Birdies and previously served as Controller at thredUP, preparing the company for its IPO.

Sean started his career in the audit practice at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and has served as the head of finance at organizations within the technology (SaaS, fintech) and nonprofit sectors. Sean holds an MSA and Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts and is a Certified Public Accountant in California.

Sean is a founder and Managing Partner at Karlon Group. Prior to forming Karlon Group, Sean was Vice President of Finance and Operations at Birdies and previously served as Controller at thredUP, preparing the company for its IPO.
